Miyavi WIP by libra-illustrations Miyavi WIP by libra-illustrations
This drawing seems to be taking forever to finish... or at least it feels that way... Oddly enough, the hardest part so far was the guitar. Trying to get the frets spaced similarly to the one in the reference photo was a serious pain in the ass.

Two reference photos were used for various elements.

Tools used were pen/ink (sizes 0.1, 0.3, 0.5) for stippling, Sharpie marker for background frame. Color and touchups in Photoshop.

Major kudos to :iconrpm77: for the help in cleaning this baby up when my hand just couldn't take any more... as well as encouragement when I needed it to keep going. Also, thanks to Hitoshi for some PS pointers!

Frets are hella hard. You have a good sense of light & depth. Your pointilism is beautiful.

Thank you! Yes, the frets were... aggravating to say the least.

I'm very flattered you like it. =)

Very awesome! Looks like it took a long time to do! Quick question...why does the guitar only have four strings at the top?

Yea, the four strings is actually something I'm thinking about touching up... in the source picture it looked that way too... a trick of the light. I just got tired of messing with it last night. =P If only I could share the pain this picture gave me last night... :faint:
